  • Why buy from us?
Each Hata rooftop tent goes through dual quality control: 1) independent quality inspection before it leaves the manufacturing facility; 2) final check before delivery. Months of testing and working with a manufacturing engineer led us to a reliable final product adapted to the North American climate. We have put our demo model through "the rings of fire" to ensure that you will get a quality product that will serve you well. We are located in Greater Vancouver area (British Columbia) and would happily arrange a viewing of our demo models.
  • What should I consider when buying RTT?
Here are few common things to consider: You need to verify with your vehicle manufacturer or check your vehicle's manual for the maximum dynamic weight load allowed for your roof rails. Also, your crossbars have to be rated to support the weight (refer to your crossbars manual). If you have a sunroof, please make sure the mounting hardware does not obstruct the opening of your sunroof. Please make sure you position your RTT so that you can open your trunk/back door. Your RTT should not extend too far over your windshield to avoid interference with the driver's vision.
  • How do I know if my vehicle can support RTT?
You need to verify with your vehicle manufacturer or check your vehicle's manual for the maximum dynamic weight load allowed for your roof rails. Also, your crossbars have to be rated to support the weight (refer to your crossbars manual). Please note the difference between dynamic and static weights. Dynamic load applies to the maximum weight allowed while your vehicle is in motion. Static load refers to the maximum permitted weight for a stationary vehicle. RTT weight will vary depending on the model. Please refer to "Specifications" for weight info regarding the specific model.
  • What your custom-made fabric's specifications mean?
600D : D stands for denier, which is a unit of measurement used to calculate the thickness or density of a yarn. The higher the number, the higher the thickness of the fabric. 600D Oxford fabric is a heavy-duty, durable material suited for luggage, backpacks, etc. Ripstop: Ripstop fabric has a stronger thread that goes up and across the fabric, forming tear resistant squares. Waterproof index: 3000mm means that the fabric can hold a 3000mm tall column of water. For your reference 1000mm is the legal requirement to call a tent waterproof. Fade-resistant fabric: Such fabric is more durable for outdoor use. Additionally, light-coloured fabrics tend to stay cooler in sunny weather conditions. UV resistant: Our tightly woven fabric makes a good barrier against the sun. Mold/Mildew resistant: Our polyester Oxford fabric has mold/mildew and rot resistant properties that make it low-maintenance. However, regardless of the fabric it is essential to store your tent dry.
